Glowherd Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 15, 2026 Contact: thomasmasters@gmail.com

This policy explains what Glowherd (“the app”, “we”) does with information when you use it on iOS. Glowherd is published by Thomas Masters as an independent developer.

We try to collect as little as possible. There is no account, no login, and no server we operate that stores information about you.

1. Information processed on your device only

Glowherd stores the following on your device using Apple’s standard UserDefaults system. None of it is transmitted to us:

You can erase all of this at any time by deleting the app.

2. Information processed by third parties on our behalf

Glowherd uses two Apple-approved third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy linked below.

2.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

Unless you have purchased “Remove Ads”, Glowherd shows banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads served by Google AdMob.

AdMob may process the following on its own servers in order to serve, measure, and prevent fraud in ads:

AdMob never sees your in-game progress, scores, purchases, contact information, or any identifier you sign in with — because Glowherd does not collect any of those things.

Google’s role and policies:

2.2 Apple App Store (in-app purchases)

If you purchase “Remove Ads”, the transaction is processed by Apple under Apple’s terms. We never see your payment information. Apple shares with us only the anonymized transaction record needed to grant the entitlement on your device.

3. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On first launch, iOS asks whether you want to allow tracking by Glowherd. This controls whether AdMob may use your advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalize ads.

You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

4. Children

Glowherd is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly process personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to AdMob through the app, please contact us and we will work with Google to remove it.

5. Your privacy rights

Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR)

On first launch (and any later launch where the law requires re-prompting), Glowherd presents a Google-provided consent form covering AdMob. You may:

You may withdraw or change your consent at any time from within the app’s privacy options, which re-opens the same form.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data Google holds about you for advertising purposes. Most of these requests are exercised directly with Google through your Google account or through the AdMob consent form. You may also email us at thomasmasters@gmail.com and we will assist.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Users in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and other US states with privacy laws

Glowherd does not “sell” your personal information for money. Some US state laws define limited “sharing” of advertising identifiers with AdMob as a sale.

To opt out, choose “Ask App Not to Track” when iOS prompts you, or change the setting at Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. You can also email thomasmasters@gmail.com requesting an opt-out and we will pass the request to Google.

You also have the right under applicable state law to request access to, deletion of, or correction of the limited personal information Google processes about you for ads. Use the Google links in section 2.1 above, or contact us and we will assist.

6. Data retention

We do not retain personal information about you, because we do not collect any. AdMob’s retention of advertising identifiers is governed by Google’s policies linked in section 2.1.

7. Security

Because Glowherd does not operate a server or collect personal information, there is no account information to breach. Local data on your device is protected by iOS sandboxing and full-device encryption when you set a passcode.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a material way, the new effective date will be shown at the top, and on first launch after the change the AdMob consent form will be redisplayed where required by law.
